Game Over is a game end. Typically this happens when Aya's HP reaches 0, a time limit is reached or when the player fails in a specific event.
Parasite Eve[]
Upon receiving a Game Over, the player must resume a game with a save file or start from the beginning. The conditions for a Game Over include:
- Aya's HP drops to 0.
- Aya fails to escape the hospital rooftop in time.
- Aya is intercepted by the Ultimate Being during the final escape.
Parasite Eve II[]
Upon receiving a Game Over, the player must resume a game with a save file or start from the beginning. The conditions for a Game Over include:
- Aya's HP drops to 0.
- Guest HP (Kyle or Eve) drops to 0.
- Aya is cornered during the battle with No.9 and is fatally wounded.
- Aya is eaten by the Glutton during either battle.
- Aya fails to escape the Garbage Incinerator in time.
- Aya fails to escape a chokehold in time from a Knight GOLEM or Bishop GOLEM.
The 3rd Birthday[]
Unlike the previous installments, The 3rd Birthday allows for players to load a game from the nearest checkpoint and continue with the mission. The conditions for a Game Over include:
- Aya's HP drops to 0.

In Parasite Eve II, the HP check for the player and guest is active full-time, regardless of whether or not the player is in battle. Modding the HP for either character at any given time to 0 will produce an instant Game Over.
